Composites Technician

Vacancy for a composites technician responsible for fabricating composite subassemblies for various applications. This person is expected to work closely with fabrication teams, planners, and engineering. This individual should possess strong analytical skills, be a self-starter, and work well independently with little guidance.

Job funtions:

Fabricating composite structural and cosmetic parts;
Interpreting ply tables, 3D CAD models (SolidWorks preferred), and Standard Operating Procedures;
Operating precision measuring tools and instruments;
Operating hand tools, grinders, sanders, rotary files, drills;
Repairing UAV vehicle structures with various adhesives, resins and cure methods;
Generate layup and cure procedures and work instructions with support from vehicle design teams;

Basic Qualifications:

Combinations of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered.
2-year technical degree in composites manufacturing or equivalent
3 years of composites-specific manufacturing experience required
Able to work with minimal supervision and with ambiguity
Advanced understanding of composite structure fabrication processes and methods
Strong mechanical and assembly skills
Ability to prioritize work in a complex, fast-paced environment
Work with hand tools
Basic engineering knowledge: mechanical, electrical, software
Demonstrated analytical, written, and oral communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office
